On and offsite, our technical department
is available to keep you up and running. 24/7 service is available for hardware
and software support. We also install and maintain complete network solutions,
large or small, at home or office.
Bring it in, save your money!
Bringing your computer into our shop is the most economical way to solve hardware and software problems. We have all the resources and a live connection to the Internet for driver updates and software fixes. Many computer problems require research and diagnosis, two things that are limited with an on-site visit.
We'll come to you
Many hardware, software and networking problems demand a personal visit. Quite often we will give you an upper value for an estimate, and stay until the problem is fixed.
The right equipment makes all
the difference!
Beware of buying and installing shareware, freeware, gadgets and games - they can cause you trouble and cost you money. If you need your computer for business purposes, install only the applications you need and buy the best hardware you can find. Buy the kids a separate computer or a removable hard drive, do not compromise your business!
Hardware
You will find below a list of typical problems we have seen as a result of ill-advised hardware purchases. Our preferences are based upon personal experience, and the knowledge of our preferred technical repair company, Infinite Loop Network Solutions.
Network Cards
3com network cards are generally regarded as the best. A poor quality network card can cause intermittent problems, and need replacement far more often than a high quality equivalent. A 3com card costs $25 more than most but can save you hundreds of dollars and days of down time.
CD Burners
A common toy, many computer manufacturers have tried to capitalize on the craze by mass-producing crappy burners and software.
Mother Boards
The heart of a computer is the mother board and starting with a quality mother board will make your life a lot easier. In our experience ASUS motherboards with Pentium chipsets are the best foundation. Do not buy bargain basement boxes! Every component is often of second rate quality, exposing you to untold difficultly down the road. We would rather see you happily computing than paying us to repeatedly patch up your bargain! Quality components can add $500 or more to the price, the best money you can spend.
CPU
Pentium chipsets are the best. For reliabilty and dependability, spend the couple of extra bucks.
Sound cards
There are many known incompatibility issues between manufacturers, operating systems, and software: always check the manufacturers website to find software updates, known problems, and solutions.
